The IK Association was founded as a posthumous tribute to chef Ivan Kisic, who, in addition to being an ambassador for Peru brand, was passionate about nutrition and the fight against childhood anemia.
From a very early age, Ivan was connected to nutrition and nature thanks to his maternal grandmother and the Cieneguilla garden she tended. It was here, that his passion for cooking and the produce grown in this wonderful land was born. From a young age, he traveled throughout Peru, aided by his father's profession (aviation); this is how he forged his love for Peru, as he lived and deeply enjoyed all the regions, the different microclimates, the geographical complexity, and, above all, the people and the culinary variety each corner had to offer.
Ivan was always ahead of his time, intensely emotional, a lover of the magic of children and the future they should have. He was a visionary when it came to creating and expressing his ideas and feelings; this was his way of sharing his vision with the entire world so they could experience the message behind his art and passion. He was a born researcher with an eye for detail. He even designed recipe books for babies who were starting a baby food diet after breastfeeding. Each one of his creations, exhibitions, presentations at local or international fairs, universities, schools, communities, and his outreach to farmers, producers, fishermen, and even mothers who worked in soup kitchens reflected that he had a 360-degree world in his soul, where all disciplines merged.
